1. Is belly dance suitable for families and children?
Absolutely! Our performers always conduct themselves in a professional, family oriented manner. Kids, in particular, make the show! They love to join in when it's time for audience participation and they are always in awe of the colourful costumes and atmosphere created by the performance. Understandably, history and the movies have muddled people’s perceptions of belly dance. Belly dance is actually a fertility dance which was danced for women, by women. We must stress, a belly dancer is NOT to be confused with an 'exotic dancer' who dresses as a belly dancer – this couldn’t be further from the truth!

2. I noticed you include audience participation in your shows. What does this entail?
This is purely for fun and there is nothing to be frightened about! There are times throughout the performance where performers will invite certain people to dance with them. Performers will usually offer the bride, groom, birthday person, etc. to dance first and then may select other audience members at random to join in the fun, too.
Our performers do not attempt to embarrass audience members, they simply get them up for a quick dance and allow them to show off their grooves! This is fun for other audience members to watch and creates a great atmosphere at the event - not to mention some great snap shots and something to talk about around the water cooler!
It is preferred that a guest does not decline the offer to dance as it slows down the show, but our performers will respect the wishes of anyone who truly does not wish to dance. Sometimes, though it's best to just get up, let go of any inhibitions and enjoy yourself!

5. I have booked a show with you, how can I prepare for the performance?
Please ensure you have arranged a good quality sound system. Please check for clear and loud sound quality before your event. Unfortunately, iPod docking stations and small ghetto blasters are not suitable for the music we use as we need to hear the beats very clearly.
Please ensure you have created a decent sized dance space. There is a lot of energy and movement involved in our performances so, the more room, the better.
Please ensure there is a room at the event location where our performers can prepare for the show and safely leave their belongings.
Please ensure instructions to the location are clear and inform us about accessibility to the venue, parking, etc.
Please ensure your event runs on time as the nature of this industry means our performers book back to back events and will need to dash to the next job.

6. I have booked Sophia to perform at my event but, due to unforeseen circumstances, she can no longer attend. What happens now?
In the rare circumstance when Sophia can no longer attend the event you have booked her for, she will book a replacement dancer and inform you of the change. This will only happen in unforeseen circumstances and we will ensure you’re satisfied with the replacement performer before making any changes.

7. My guests are a little conservative, do you have modest costuming available?
Yes, absolutely. If your audience is more conservative, traditional folkloric attire or modest cabaret costuming can be worn. Simply advise at time of booking.

8. I’d like to offer the performers a tip, how do I do this?
Thank you, we’re very grateful when our clients wish to extend their gratitude for our services. Tipping is customary in belly dance and it is acceptable to hand a tip directly to the dancer or place the tip in an arm/head band. Under no circumstances are audience members to touch the performer or attempt to put money in their top or skirt. This is extremely offensive behaviour, so please ensure you give your audience members the heads up!
